The new Professional Collection ‘Center Block’ range is based on the iconic White Falcon, but is slimmer with a smaller body size to make it more manageable. The semi-acoustics are the thinnest guitars Gretsch has ever produced.
We’ve noticed Gretsch guitars are getting really popular with up and coming bands, and there were some exciting new models unveiled at NAMM including the ‘Center Block’ range - for Gretsch’s 130th birthday.
The new Professional Collection ‘Center Block’ range is based on the iconic White Falcon, but is slimmer with a smaller body size to make it more manageable. The semi-acoustics are the thinnest guitars Gretsch has ever produced.
The guitars have ‘center blocks’ a solid spruce block down the middle which reduces feedback and makes them more suitable for high gain styles of playing. The spruce also gives a more ‘spirited’ tone.
There are single and double cutaway Falcon models and there is a Bigsby option on the double cutaway too. They feature oversized f holes, and are available in White with Gold Sparkle and Black with Silver Sparkle.
All the models - Falcon and Panther - feature dual High Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups, and a three-ply maple body, along with an Adjusto-Matic bridge.
The Panther is a double cutaway with Bigsby available in black or white. It has less dramatic styling than the Falcon, for those who want something that is more understated.
The model numbers are:
Panther G6137TCB
Falcon Single Cutaway G6139CB
Falcon Double Cutaway G6139T-CBDC
