The Soundgear family of bass guitars started in 1987 with the original SR bass, and has since evolved into a range that includes various developments and design modifications made specifically from feedback received from artists using Ibanez basses. The SR bass has a comfort-contoured body, and is lightweight and balanced with a thinner neck than a traditional bass, making fretwork effortless. The five knobs (3 tone, volume and pickup blend) and active pickups, allow for a huge versatility of bass sounds. With its slim neck, and 24 frets, this bass can accommodate most types of playing, and is particularly popular amongst rock bassists. The variants of the SR include through-body necks, arched top, or humbuckers which all create different tones and playing experiences.
