The Pearl Export was a classic drum kit, known for its winning combination of great sound, style, and value. It was hugely popular - with over a million kits sold - and used by many bands, though has been discontinued and replaced by new ranges such as the Vision. The EXR was a later version and R stands for ‘Radical’, offering new eye-catching designs with a retro feel. The EXR is made of 6 ply poplar, a relatively hard wood, which gives it a good attack and a sound that cuts through.
