Based in Sydney, Australia, RØDE evolved from 1960s company Freedman Electronics and made its first mic in 1990 as a good value professional quality condenser mic. It now makes a range of condensor, dynamic and valve mics for performance, studio and broadcast. They are used by artists such as Duff McKagan, the beatboxer Shlomo, The Duke Spirit, Bootsy Collins and Blindness.
