Based in Japan, Korg corporation was founded in 1962 by Tsutomu Kato and Tadashi Osanai. Originally manufacturing an early drum machine, they then moved into the organ market and started focusing on keyboards. This eventually led them to create synthesizers, using their expertise in programmable organs and keyboard manufacture. Today, they sell a large range of electronic musical instruments, audio processors and guitar pedals, recording equipment and electronic tuners. Under the Vox brand name (which they bought in 1992), they also make guitar amplifiers and electric guitars.
