Founded by Roland Meinl in 1951, Meinl Percussion are one of the four major mass-producers of cymbals. They make a wide range of cymbals for different sounds and consumers from entry-level to professional, and have a variety of metals and designs. Based in Germany, they are unique in using six different alloys for crafting cymbals, more than any other manufacturer, allowing a wide spread of basic characteristics in their product lines. Their affordable ranges are reliable and have good quality, whilst their very high-end cymbals are hand-hammered in Turkey and have a range of different bronze alloy formulas available.
