The Neumann TLM 103 is a large diaphragm microphone in Neumann’s lower priced range, and is based on the legendary U87 design. It features the Neumann transformerless circuit designed for low self-noise and highest sound pressure level transmission. The capsule, derived from that used in the U87, has a cardioid pattern and is built to be acoustically well-balanced with extraordinary attenuation of signals from the rear.
