Vintage guitars have collaborated with the well-known British clothing designer to create a ¾ size acoustic guitar. Whilst the Paul Smith marketing refers to it as a ‘children’s guitar’, it is worth taking note that this would make a very worthwhile travel acoustic, with a higher quality than many of the cheaper guitars that exist in this realm. The guitar has a spruce top and mahogany body with a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and a mahogany bridge. The finish is black gloss only and it has a blue binding. The soundhole features the Paul Smith ‘signature stripes’ and the headstock bears the Paul Smith signature. The guitar can be tuned A to A to compensate for the shorter length, whilst in standard tuning it has an added brightness to the tone that really cuts through a mix. It is also worth noting that this is not a Paul Reed Smith (PRS) guitar, as the clothing retailer’s name could easily be confused with that of the guitar manufacturer.
