Produced in the early 1980s, this was part of a range of DX synthesizers made by Yamaha. It is known for the flexibility and precision of its bright digital sounds and was used on many pop recordings from the era. The range of synthesizers was incredibly popular, and remains in demand today for its unique, non-analog sound. Using dual FM synthesis, it allows two voices to be played simultaneously, or in a split keyboard configuration. With a 32 voice programmable memory, and 128 inbuilt voice presets, this can produce a range of rich and vibrant voices. With MIDI compatibility, it can neatly sync with other sequencers and instruments.
